Tava Pulav


Ingredients :

2 cup - Cooked Basmati rice
1 - Medium onion finely chopped
1 - Green bell pepper cut into small chunks
1 - Large boiled potato cut into big chunks
2 - Carrots cut into small chunks
¼ cup - Green peas
¼ cup - Paneer cut into small cube (optional)
2 tbs - Boiled yellow sweet corn (optional)
2 tbs - Butter/ ghee or oil
½ tsp - Cumin seeds
½ tsp - Asafoetida
½ tsp - Ginger garlic paste
2 tbs - Pav bhaji masala
1 tsp - Garam masala (or according to taste)
½ tsp - Red chilli powder
2 tbs - Tomato puree
1tsp - Lemon juice
2 tbs - Water
Salt to taste
Coriander for garnishing


Method :

1. Heat oil in a frying pan on medium high. Add cumin seeds, Asafoetida and sauté it for 30 seconds.
2. Add chopped onions and cook it until golden brown. Now add ginger garlic paste and stir it for 1 min.
3. Now add carrot, green pepper and green peas . Cook the vegetables till they become soft but not mashy. ( It should hold its shape).
4. Now add boiled potato, paneer , boiled yellow sweet corn and mix it well. Cook for 1 minute.
5. Add tomato puree , pav bhaji masala, red chilli powder and water. Mix it well and let it cook for 3-4 min.
6. Add cooked rice and mix it gently.
7. Add salt, garam masala and lemon juice. Mix it well.
8. Cook it on hight heat for 2-3 minutes stirring in between.
9. Garnish it with some chopped coriander leaves.
10. Tava Pulav is ready to serve .
11. Enjoy it with boondi raita or plain yogurt or pickle.
