Malai Peda (Khoya/Mava Peda)




Ingredients :

250 gm   -   Ricotta cheese
¼ cup     -   Sugar
¼ tsp      -   Cardamom powder
1 pinch   -   saffron
1 tbs       -   Milk
1 tbs       -   Ghee (clarified butter)
1 tbs       -   Pistachios finely chopped



Preparation :

  1. Take ghee in a saucepan and heat it on medium high.
  2. Add ricotta cheese and cook it until all the water evaporates and it turns light golden brown.
  3. Add sugar and cook it stirring continuously.
  4. Add saffron and cardamom powder.
  5. Mix it well. Let it cool down to room temperature or until its easy to handle.
  6. Make small balls from the mixture. Garnish it with pistachios.
  7. Malai peda is ready to serve.
